Rome Convention Centre

La Nuvola — “The Cloud”

Designed by Massimiliano Fuksas · Opened 2016

The Rome Convention Centre, known universally as “La Nuvola” (The Cloud), is one of Europe’s most visually striking and technically advanced congress facilities. The iconic structure houses a vast steel-and-glass cloud suspended inside a crystalline parallel-epipedal shell — a masterwork of contemporary Italian architecture.

Located in the EUR district of Rome, the building sits within one of the city’s most architecturally coherent neighbourhoods. The EUR district’s wide tree-lined avenues, artificial lake, and symmetrical marble buildings provide an extraordinary setting for an international congress of this scale.

Opened in 2016 after more than 20 years of development, La Nuvola spans over 55,000 m² and is equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual systems, simultaneous translation facilities for six languages, and high-speed fibre-optic infrastructure throughout.

GCCS 2027 will utilise the venue’s full congress facilities — from the grand 1,200-seat Plenary Hall A to three additional congress halls, an expansive exhibition hall, and world-class catering across multiple dining venues on site.
